Liberty (Pastor, Keaton B. Smith)
Isn’t God good! Liberty Missionary Baptist Church…gives God all glory honor and praise for His mighty work at Liberty and sister churches. The Kingdom Work of our Lord just gets better and better.
Liberty was blessed to have a wonderful program presented by the children and youth on Palm Sunday, and a Son-Rise Service on Easter morning with a country breakfast afterwards in the Fellowship Hall. There was a full house for our Easter morning service and the children enjoyed an Egg Hunt afterwards.
Bro. Sam Moore, pastor of Candle Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, led a well-attended Men’s Prayer Meeting for our church and community on March 20 in the Fellowship Hall. (The men were on their own that night—they enjoyed grilled pork chops.)
Bro. Keaton, the congregation and the joint choirs of Liberty & Candle Ridge have been joining in the ministry work at WLJC through singing, answering phones and Bro. Keaton evangelizing during the Revival at WLJC. I know everyone considered it a joy and blessing to do this, and talking to the sweet-spirited people that called into WLJC was a blessing. Isn’t it an honor to lift someone up to the Lord in prayer?
On March 29, Liberty and several other sister churches attended the Associational VBS Training Clinic at Grays Baptist Church. It was great, informative, and the churches that pre-registered received lots of free decorations for VBS 2008 Outrigger Island. Special thanks to Bro. Seymour, DOM, and Maxine Bunch, Associational VBS Director, and the class leaders for all the hard work they put into making this a fun-filled learning event, and to Grays Baptist for the use of their church buildings and grounds.
In April, six Veterans brought by Liberty member Jerry Cupp came and held a flag ceremony to replace our outdoor American and Christian flags. It was a very reflective moment. We thank the Veterans for the service at Liberty and for the Liberty they defended. On the 12th of April we had our quarterly Saturday night service—over 110 people chose to honor God with their time. Wendy and Lydia Heindel and Ora and Mike Puckett, all family of Bro. Keaton from Ohio, graced us with beautiful piano-accompanied singing.
Sunday, April 20th through Wednesday the 23rd "On Mission Conference" was celebrated at Liberty and sister churches, and it was great. Liberty baptized a young man named Matt on the last night of the conference. On the same night, we had a public rededication and four professions of faith to add to the ones we have had since the first of the year, Linda and Emily were baptized earlier in April, and Becca, Brooke and Shelby will be baptized during the Morning Worship on April 27.
Sunday April 27th through May 2nd, Bro. Keaton Smith will be preaching at Candle Ridge’s Spring Revival.
On May 24th, Liberty and Candle Ridge choirs will be joining forces to sing at Keck Baptist Church at 7pm for Saturday Evening Service. These Saturday night services refresh you and help build strong sister-church relationships by allowing you to visit with other churches in addition to faithful attendance at your own church.
Always requesting your prayers and sending you ours: that the Kingdom Work at Liberty, and that our sister churches will be greatly successful for the glory and honor of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
In Christ’s Love,
Liberty Missionary Baptist Church
